Or-Gan - Establishing a new website and web scrap migration for a garden and outdoor products store
End-to-end setup of a Shopify store for garden products, outdoor furniture, storage and accessories – including web scrapping migration of 500+ products from the supplier's website, smart filters, building a logical navigation hierarchy, smart collections and an optimal data infrastructure for ongoing management.
Project Overview
The goal was to establish a stable and modern store for the Israeli market, serving a wide catalog of outdoor solutions - while building a clean data infrastructure for easy and fast daily management, and a clear shopping experience from the first page to payment.
Data migration and deepening
- Import 500+ products: Pulling data from the supplier's website (names, descriptions, images, characteristics) into a uniform standard.
- Cleaning and normalization: uniformity of product names, families/models, features (dimensions, material, use, warranty) and SKUs.
- Metafields and Documentation: Technical fields for specifications, download files, installation/maintenance instructions, warranties, and delivery times.
Smart filters and an easy-to-navigate catalog
- Main filters: category (outdoor furniture/storage/pergolas/accessories), material, dimensions, color, use (yard/balcony/commercial), price range.
- Smart collections: “New”, “Sales”, “Best Sellers”, “For Small Balconies”, “Waterproof” – updated according to rules.
UX/UI and customer journey
- Clean and precise design: large images, emphasis on materials and dimensions, readable typography.
- Short customer journey: Home → Category/Filter → Product with full information → Clear CTA (“Add to Cart”/“Request a Quote” for large products).
- Trust and transparency: Presenting delivery times, shipping policies, and returns at decision points.
SEO and performance
- Basic SEO: Clean URLs, meta titles and descriptions, H1/H4 headings, and search-friendly collection descriptions.
- Performance: Image compression, lazy loading, and reducing unnecessary scripts - for fast loading times.
